A nonpartisan civic alliance
We are 60,000 residents and 180 partner organisations working for fair elections, good jobs and public services that work.

Our mission
Twenty-eight years ago a few dozen neighbours met in a church basement because the county had closed their polling place without telling anyone. They got it reopened in three weeks. More importantly, they learned that ordinary people who show up, keep notes and keep coming back can change how government works.
That is still how we work. We do not endorse candidates or parties. We set a public agenda with our members every spring, we publish what we spend and why, and we measure our progress in plain numbers anyone can check.
This year our members chose six priorities, from fair elections to climate resilience. Each has a plan, a budget and volunteers who have promised to see it through. We would be glad to have you with us.

A day on the voter help line
Between 7am and 8pm on primary day, our volunteers answered 2,318 calls. Most were simple. A few changed whether someone voted at all.
