Common questions

Anything else? Write to hello@civica.example.

Is the Civica Alliance a political party?

No. We are a nonpartisan membership organisation. We do not endorse candidates or parties, and we work with elected officials of every affiliation.

How are you funded?

About 70 percent of our budget comes from individual donors, most giving under $30 a month. The rest comes from foundations. We accept no money from parties, candidates or corporations, and our full audited accounts are published every September.

Who decides the priorities?

Members do. Every spring we hold a two-week vote. Any member can propose an issue, and the six with the most support become the next year's agenda.

I have never volunteered before. Can I still help?

Yes. Every role comes with training and a buddy who has done it before. Most volunteers start with a single four-hour shift.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

This depends on your country and on how your organisation is registered. Replace this answer with the rules that apply to you.
