Safety means being able to walk home at night, trust the people sworn to protect you, and know that the rules apply the same way to everyone.
What we are working on
- Violence-interruption programmes run by trusted community members.
- Civilian oversight boards with real investigative power.
- Pre-trial reforms so no one loses a job while waiting for a hearing they cannot afford.
- Well-lit streets, working transit and youth programmes that stay open in summer.
Measuring what matters
We publish a quarterly safety report drawing on public data and resident surveys. It tracks not only incidents but also how safe people say they feel, and whether that is changing.
